Input from Joel Thompson:
All,
My wife, Kathy, and I sold our home of 34 years in Southern California. It had been a rental since January 2009, and therefore had a very large capital gains tax burden.
I am not a tax accountant or lawyer. So, I began to try and understand my options. I soon found I needed to do a 'IRS IRC Section 1031 Exchange.' That meant I needed to purchase 'Like Kind' property, i.e., rental property, in Wichita, KS where we currently live.
Lisa did an outstanding job helping us identify potential properties in the greater Wichita area. She was relentless in her search for 'Like Kind' properties in a very competitive market.
It took several months of continuous searching for Lisa to find the properties we needed to do the 1031 Exchange and met our rather stringent requirements. She worked assisting getting the properties ready for sale - working with the 'Qualified Intermediary' for the 1031 Exchange, working with the Title Company, and working with the bank for the small loan we needed to purchase one of the three duplexes.
Her persistence, perseverance, and complete focus on our needs were a Godsend! Thank you, Lisa Andrews, for guiding us through this complex effort.

All,
Lisa is a real "go-getter": organized and always on top of things! We appreciate her professionalism, upbeat personality, seemingly unlimited patience with us, and quick response to any call, text or email. We will certainly return to her with any future real estate needs, and will be recommending her to everyone we encounter with real estate needs or questions. She is smart, hard working and personable--which makes her great to work with! We still marvel in the fact that we encountered her on a "cold call" to a real estate company to ask a question. Wow, how lucky we were!
